The new Hoyo de Monterrey Hermosos No.4 Añejado havana cigar have been released by Habanos S.A and is now available in Havana Cigar Specialists and selected catering outlets across the UK. Following on from last year’s successful introduction of the Añejado concept (with the Romeo y Julieta Pirámides and Montecristo Churchill), the Hoyo de Monterrey will be joined by a Partagas Corona Gorda Añejado later in the year. The Hoyo de Monterrey Hermoso No.4 Añejado is presented in labelled boxes of 25 cigars and, once again, consists of cigars that have been specially aged, in Cuba, for between five and eight years and are vitolas (sizes) not found within the standard portfolio of the brands.

Unique to the Añejado releases, it is the boxed cigars that have been aged, rather than the bales of tobacco (as seen in the Edicion Limitadas, Reservas and Grand Reservas). Ageing the final cigars is a method far more commonly associated with markets outside Cuba rather than within it and makes these cigars very unusual. The Añejado cigars offer an extremely rare opportunity to explore how Havana cigars develop and change when stored in their natural environment over a period of time. However, due to the nature of these products they are limited in quantity and will only be available for a finite period.
