Hunters & Frankau Unveil Exquisite House Reserve Collection at Exclusive London Event

Since the late 20th century, Hunters & Frankau has been quietly curating some of the finest Havana cigars, ageing them under perfect conditions for their prestigious House Reserve collection. These rare and remarkable cigars, released only in the most limited quantities, embody the company’s enduring commitment to craftsmanship, heritage and patience.

On 15 October 2025, leading figures from the UK cigar trade gathered at Coq d’Argent in London for an evening of celebration and discovery — the unveiling of Hunters & Frankau’s latest House Reserve releases.

A Tribute to Montecristo’s 90th Anniversary

To honour the 90th Anniversary of Montecristo, Hunters & Frankau introduced an extraordinary Aged & Rare House Reserve selection — a fitting homage to what is perhaps the most iconic cigar brand in the world.

The release comprises 135 individually numbered boxes of each size, representing four of the five original vitolas that launched Montecristo in 1935: No.2, No.3, No.4 and No.5. In total, 540 boxes have been made available, each cigar meticulously aged for ten years within Hunters & Frankau’s private reserve.

Complementing these is a release of 100 numbered boxes of the Montecristo 520, the celebrated 2012 Habanos Limited Edition. Each cigar bears the distinctive Aged & Rare foot band and rests within a box wrapped in a commemorative band created exclusively for this milestone occasion.

House Reserve Series 1790: Collection No.3 – A Tribute to Por Larrañaga

The evening also saw the unveiling of the House Reserve Series 1790: Collection No.3, dedicated to Por Larrañaga, the oldest Cuban cigar brand still in production.

Just fifty numbered humidors have been commissioned from renowned Italian craftsmen DeART S.r.l., each housing fifty cigars that showcase the four Por Larrañaga vitolas previously released as UK Habanos Regional Editions:

  • Magníficos (2007)
  • Regalias de Londres (2010)
  • Sobresalientes (2014)
  • Larrañaga 47 (2023)

Each humidor represents not only the brand’s rich history but also Hunters & Frankau’s dedication to curating cigars of outstanding character and provenance.

Luxury Collaboration with S.T. Dupont

To complete the collection, Hunters & Frankau partnered with S.T. Dupont, the revered Parisian luxury house, to create an exclusive cigar cutter and Ligne 2 lighter set. Each piece is engraved with the Series 1790 emblem and individually numbered to match its humidor.

The cutter features an ingenious folding design that doubles as a cigar rest, while the lighter bears S.T. Dupont’s unmistakable “cling” and a double flame, perfectly suited for cigars of generous ring gauge — a celebration of both artistry and function.

A Celebration of Heritage and Excellence

Reflecting on the event, Jemma Freeman, Executive Chairman of Hunters & Frankau, remarked:

“The House Reserve is a testament to our commitment to preserving the finest Havana cigars and presenting them at their peak maturity. With the Montecristo 90th Anniversary release and the Series 1790 Collection No.3, we are proud to offer aficionados something truly exceptional and unique to the UK market.”

As the evening drew to a close, one thing was clear — Hunters & Frankau continues to define excellence in the world of Havana cigars, combining heritage, rarity, and artistry in every release.
