The name Cohiba is derived from an ancient Taino Indian word meaning “tobacco”, used to describe the bundles of leaves that Columbus first observed being smoked by the native people of Cuba – the earliest known form of a Habano. Each Cohiba Siglo IV is meticulously hand-made from tobaccos grown in the most exclusive Vegas de Primeraplantations in the San Juan y Martínez and San Luis districts of the Vuelta Abajo region. Cohiba’s unique production process includes a third fermentation in wooden barrels applied to the seco, ligero, and rare medio tiempo leaves, enhancing aroma, smoothness, and overall refinement.

The Siglo IV reveals a complex, evolving flavour profile – beginning with cedar, roasted nuts, and toasted bread, developing into cocoa, coffee, and sweet spice, and concluding with a creamy, honeyed finish.
