The Cohiba Siglo IV is an outstanding expression of Cuban craftsmanship and sophistication, offering a smooth yet complex medium to full-bodied smoke. As part of the prestigious Cohiba Línea 1492 range, the Siglo IV stands out for its refined flavour, creamy texture, and exceptional construction – a cigar designed to be savoured from start to finish.

Originally created in 1966 for President Fidel Castro, Cohiba cigars were hand-rolled exclusively at the legendary El Laguito factory in Havana – a site synonymous with precision and excellence. For many years, Cohibas were reserved for Cuban officials and visiting dignitaries. When released to the public in 1982, they quickly became recognised as the flagship of Habanos, symbolising luxury and heritage across the world.

The name Cohiba comes from an ancient Taino Indian word meaning “tobacco”, used to describe the bunches of leaves that Columbus saw being smoked by the native people of Cuba – the earliest known form of a Habano. This connection to history remains at the heart of the brand’s enduring prestige.

Each Cohiba Siglo IV is meticulously hand-crafted using tobaccos from the most select Vegas de Primera plantations in the San Juan y Martínez and San Luis districts of the Vuelta Abajo region – home to Cuba’s most prized tobacco fields. Distinctively, Cohiba’s filler leaves – seco, ligero, and the rare medio tiempo – undergo an additional fermentation in wooden barrels, a process unique to the brand that enhances aroma, balance, and smoothness.

The Siglo IV offers an intricate and evolving flavour profile, opening with cedar, toasted nuts, and light spice, developing into notes of dark chocolate, coffee, and cream, and finishing with a velvety sweetness that lingers on the palate. Its flawless draw, consistent burn, and refined aroma make it one of the most rewarding cigars in the Cohiba portfolio.

Longer and slightly fuller than the Siglo III, the Cohiba Siglo IV is perfect for aficionados seeking a classic Cuban cigar that balances power and elegance in equal measure.
