Drew Estate was founded by Jonathan Drew and Marvin Samel, two friends from New York with no traditional cigar-making background. Starting from a tiny retail kiosk in the World Trade Center, Jonathan later moved to Estelí, Nicaragua, where Drew Estate grew from a handful of rollers into one of the world’s most innovative and respected cigar makers.
UNDERCROWN MADURO
Undercrown Maduro was born on the Drew Estate factory floor. In 2009, the company’s torcedores were asked to smoke fewer Liga Privada cigars because they were leaving too few for export. Instead, the rollers created their own blend using many of the same exceptional tobaccos, but with different vintages and primings.
The result was far more than a substitute. Rich, full-flavoured and beautifully balanced, Undercrown Maduro celebrates the skill, ingenuity and passion of the craftsmen behind every great cigar.
