The Drew Estate Liga Privada No. 9 Flying Pig is one of the most sought-after and recognisable cigars in the Liga Privada series. Inspired by an unusual 1895 salesman’s catalogue vitola, the Flying Pig shape is extraordinarily difficult to craft and is entrusted only to the most skilled torcedores at Drew Estate’s factory in Esteli, Nicaragua.
Originally blended as a private cigar for Drew Estate’s own humidors, Liga Privada—meaning “private blend”—was never intended for sale. After countless blend tests, the No. 9 emerged as flawless: rich, complex and intensely full bodied, yet astonishingly smooth. Every Flying Pig cigar is aged for a full year to ensure perfect balance, combustion and flavour development.
Wrapped in a dark, oily Connecticut Broadleaf and bound with plantation-grown Brazilian Mata Fina, the Flying Pig is filled with a powerful selection of premium Honduran and Nicaraguan seed tobaccos sourced from seven different farms.
Expect an exceptionally dense and satisfying smoke with layers of espresso, dark cocoa, rich earth, leather, pepper spice and subtle sweetness—all amplified in this compact, stout vitola often described as Liga Privada No. 9 on steroids. Construction is consistently outstanding, delivering heavy smoke output, perfect draw and unwavering flavour from start to finish.
Presented in a beautifully finished box of 12 cigars, the Liga Privada No. 9 Flying Pig is an essential addition for collectors and connoisseurs seeking the very best of Drew Estate’s artistry.
