The Montecristo Media Corona is a modern revival of a classic Havana size, offering all the flavour and refinement of Montecristo in a compact and accessible format. Media Corona literally means “Half Corona” — a format first introduced in the UK in 1907 by an English importer who wanted a shorter cigar to enjoy before the theatre without keeping his wife waiting.

This convenient size soon became a favourite, dominating the market through the 1920s and 1930s when it accounted for an estimated one in every thirty Havana cigars sold in the UK. Although it eventually fell from popularity, it was reintroduced by H. Upmann in 2011 with a slightly wider 44 ring gauge, giving it a more contemporary profile.
