First created in 1966 for President Fidel Castro, Cohiba cigars were initially reserved as diplomatic gifts for world leaders and visiting dignitaries. Production took place at the legendary El Laguito factory in Havana – a facility renowned for its meticulous standards, skilled torcedores, and unique triple-fermentation process that distinguishes Cohiba from every other Cuban brand.

Each Cohiba Siglo I is hand-rolled using tobaccos sourced from the Vegas de Primera plantations in the Vuelta Abajoregion, specifically the San Juan y Martínez and San Luis districts. These tobaccos are regarded as the finest in the world. Uniquely, Cohiba’s seco, ligero, and medio tiempo leaves undergo an additional fermentation in wooden barrels, enriching aroma, depth, and smoothness.

The Siglo I offers a beautifully balanced flavour profile, with notes of cedar, roasted coffee, cocoa, and warm spiceunfolding in perfect harmony.
