Punch cigars are among the oldest Habano brands, founded in the mid-19th century by Don Manuel López of Juan Valle & Co. with the booming British market in mind. At the time, a popular satirical magazine called Punch was in vogue, and its iconic mascot—Mr Punch, the jovial clown—still appears on every Punch cigar box, depicted with cigar in hand and surrounded by 19th-century illustrations of cigar making. This classic design has remained virtually unchanged for more than 150 years, preserving the brand’s charm and heritage.
In 1931, Punch became closely linked with Hoyo de Monterrey, and both brands have since been produced in the same factory—today, the world-famous La Corona Factory in Havana.
