The Trinidad Vigia is named after the watchtowers (“Vigías”) built in the Cuban city of Trinidad to overlook the sugarcane fields — a fitting symbol of tradition and craftsmanship. The brand itself takes its name from the 16th-century city of La Santisima Trinidad (The Holy Trinity), a UNESCO World Heritage Site on Cuba’s southern coast.
Originally established in 1969, Trinidad cigars were, like Cohiba, reserved exclusively for diplomatic gifts and only released for general sale in 1998 in limited quantities. For years, production took place at the legendary El Laguito factory, where its medium-bodied blend of Vuelta Abajo tobaccos was perfected to deliver an aromatic and balanced smoking experience.
The Vigia vitola, with its commanding 54 ring gauge, produces a smooth yet complex profile of cedar, roasted coffee, and light spice, complemented by the brand’s distinctive creamy undertones. Expertly rolled and beautifully finished with Trinidad’s signature pigtail cap, it is a luxurious, flavourful smoke that perfectly represents the prestige of the brand.
