The Cohiba Siglo I Tubo is a refined expression of Cuba’s most prestigious cigar brand, presented in an elegant aluminium tube for ultimate freshness and convenience. Compact yet complex, it delivers the full-bodied sophistication that has made Cohiba a global icon of luxury and craftsmanship.
Created in 1966 for President Fidel Castro, Cohiba cigars were originally produced exclusively at the El Laguito factory in Havana – a once top-secret facility renowned for its expert rollers and exceptional standards. For years, Cohibas were reserved for diplomats and world leaders before being made available to the public in 1982, instantly establishing their reputation as the world’s most distinguished Cuban cigars.
The name Cohiba originates from the Taino Indian word used to describe the rolls of tobacco leaves that Columbus saw being smoked by Cuba’s indigenous people – the earliest recorded form of a Habano. This heritage is reflected in every Cohiba cigar, which embodies both cultural tradition and technical perfection.
Each Cohiba Siglo I Tubo is hand-crafted using the finest tobaccos from the Vegas de Primera plantations of San Juan y Martínez and San Luis in the Vuelta Abajo region – Cuba’s most revered tobacco-growing area. Cohiba is unique among all Habanos, as up to three of its filler leaves – the seco, ligero, and rare medio tiempo – undergo a third fermentation in wooden barrels, producing unmatched aroma, complexity, and smoothness.
Expect a balanced and aromatic smoke with notes of cedar, roasted coffee, cocoa, and subtle spice, gradually unfolding into a creamy, refined finish. The Siglo I Tubo offers a luxurious yet compact experience, ideal for moments when time is short but quality cannot be compromised.
