If there is one particularly famous cigar factory in Havana, it is the Partagás Factory, located at No. 520 Industria Street, just behind the Capitol building in the heart of the city. Founded in 1845 by Don Jaime Partagás, the factory has produced world-renowned Partagás cigars ever since.
A Partagás cigar is instantly recognisable for its deep, earthy flavour profile, derived from carefully selected filler and binder tobaccos from the Vuelta Abajo region of Cuba. These tobaccos are chosen for their unmistakable richness of flavour and aroma, making Partagás one of the most iconic Cuban cigar brands.
The Partagás range includes a wide variety of vitolas, with standouts such as the Partagás Lusitania and the Partagás 8-9-8, named after the way it is arranged in its box. However, the most famous is undoubtedly the Partagás Serie D No.4—a classic Robusto cigar and part of the legendary Partagás Alphabet Series, first introduced in the 1930s.
